2004 Ollie LaFreniere Memorial Scholarship
In honor of Ollie LaFreniere, and in appreciation of the generous community contributions in his name, we would like award the following scholarships.
1. A $500 scholarship will be given yearly in June of 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007.
2. One scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who was involved in
chess throughout his academic years.
3. Applications must be submitted no later than May 1, 2004 for the 2003-2004
4. Applications will be reviewed by the Ollie LaFreniere Memorial Scholarship
5. Scholarships will be awarded in June by mail.
A. High GPA
B. Good SAT, ACT scores
C. Good Attendance Record
D. Good Discipline Record
E. Participation in chess
F. Participation in school activities, community service and extra- curricular activities
7. Applications will consist of:
A. Application form provided below
B. Two letters of reference: at least one from a high school staff member and
one from a person who has known the student for a minimum two years,
but not a relative.
C. Official high school transcripts.
