Stevenson
Elementary School’s first annual regional chess tournament is a great
opportunity to test your chess skills, or freshen up for the enormous WA State
Championship to be held two weeks later.
The Stevenson Chess Club invites participants from all skill levels. This will be a fun tournament for new players as well as highly advanced players. Unlike most scholastic tournaments, the Stevenson Chess Fest will award trophies based upon rating class instead of grade level. This means that the best unrated players have a great chance to win trophies, as do players at each rating level, and of course, the overall winners.
Top prizes are awesome, double-decker trophies!
Site: Bellevue High School, 10416 SE Wolverine Way, Bellevue, WA 98004. This large high school has ample parking. The tournament will be held in a large gymnasium with a balcony suitable for parental viewing of the tournament.
Miscellaneous: Food/drink will be available on site. Easter-egg activities also available. Nominal cash fee to color eggs and/or participate in our egg hunt (for pre-K through 3rd grade only).
Entry Fee: $15.00 per student.
